Putting the finishing touches on my book "Ashe in Wanderland" before it goes to print. Feeling stoked and a bit sadden to see this project end. Each time I open the pages and look through the images and storyline as a whole, I am proud of what I have accomplished and scared of releasing it to the world. It has been said many times over, that artist's are their own worst critics. It is more true now than ever. In the back of my mind I know that Ashe's story is over, the images are done and the storyline is all but finished. Yet, I keep going back to it trying to find something to fix, or torturing myself with the idea that I can push it to another level. Eventually as an artist I just have to come to the conclusion that my book is done and ready for print. It is time to let go and set my baby free into the world.Almost exactly one month from today (November 13th) Ashe will be released into the world through my website www.jeaninenewell.com For anyone who is in the area or would like to attend, I will be having a book release/signing and gallery show at BarVino wine & beer bar at 272 Main Street North Creek NY 12853 with live music by Brian Conway. The book will be available on site plus there will be 8 large 16x20 canvas prints for sale in addition to matted 5x7's of images from the book.Drum roll please. As I write these last few words the final draft of "Ashe in Wanderland" is uploading to the publishers site to have a sample book made before I order my first run of copies in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed that everything looks perfect with colors glowing and the words jumping right off the page. Feeling accomplished and exhausted time to spend the rest of my Sunday zoning out to a movie and getting some much needed sleep.
